My Viewing Log

For the past couple of months, I’ve been keeping track of my media consumption, mainly focusing on movies and tv shows. So, I decided I could share with you all! These are my opinions on what I've recently watched but maybe I can inspire you to watch and enjoy these films too.

December-

  • Community: I loved it very much. I spent winter break watching it, binging a few times. One day I watched over a full season of around 22 episodes in one sitting. I think the show is very funny and the fourth wall breaks so much it practically doesn’t even exist anymore. One thing that the characters have said a few times is “six seasons and a movie” and at the end of one of the six seasons, “#SixSeasonsAndAMovie” was displayed on the screen. I searched it up and there is in-fact a movie being made. I will definitely be watching that when it comes out. (early to late December)

 January-

  • The Good Place: At first it was boring, so I almost didn’t want to watch it one day, but then my dad played it anyway and the episode that played had a huge plot twist that made me invested once again. The show could have ended 2 episodes earlier but the addition of these episodes made it feel more complete and I’m glad they did. Overall I really liked it. The ending was sad but not tragic so it didn’t make me feel empty or as if something was left behind. Instead, it felt like it added to my life and can motivate me with its deep meaning. (late December to mid January)
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: I watched the first one on one day, then the next day watched the second, third, and fourth. I have yet to watch the fifth one. I loved them, and it was even better since I went to Disneyworld later that week and went on the ride, finally understanding some of the references. I cant wait to watch the next one, especially because an actor I like (Brenton Thwaites) is in it. (January 20 and 21)
  • On the way home from Disney, I went on YouTube and decided to search up a video on how to take control of my life. The video I clicked on was called “How to Take Control Of Your Life | Full Procrastination Protocol” by ‘Cajun Joy Academy.’ Overall the video was very interesting and inspired me, not only to watch more inspirational and educational videos, but to make changes to my life and make it more meaningful. The other videos I watched include “How to stop wasting your life” “How I routinely study with a full time job when I’m tired” and “How to get 1% better each day.” These were all were great and left me with a completely different mindset. I would recommend this if you struggle with procrastination and feel like you waste your time on social media when you could be doing something more meaningful. (January 28)
  • My brother recently restarted watching Stranger Things, so one day when I came home and sat on the couch, I started watching some episodes with him of the first season. We watched episodes 3-5. I had already watched the show and liked it, but it’s refreshing to sit down and watch it again after not doing so for a while. (January 31)

February-

  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales: I enjoyed it a lot, definitely loved it, and I can’t wait for the 6th one. This one certainly had a very interesting story and bringing back Elizabeth and William Turner along with the introduction of their child and an interesting new female character (who is more connected to everything than originally implied), this movie is one of the better ones. (February 1)
That’s all! I will certainly watch more in the future and be sure to subscribe for more Lit Littman Posts!
