"The Man of Her Dreams" Screenplay

click:  THE MAN OF HER DREAMS Screenplay  to view the script/screenplay for my movie, "The Man of Her Dreams"  Warning: hints at a movie spoiler.  Some challenges I faced when writing the screenplay was the commitment to the ideas and how to write them. The idea for the mysterious man's outfit had to be finalized , and between a regular black suit, a button up, or the vintage suit, I decided to go with vintage. I also had to decide on what the make the news scroll say, and after days of contemplation, I went with a jailed insane man. I had other options such as missing scientist, runaway criminal, or even an unknown man, but I decided to go with the older man being admitted to prison . There is a connection between these two decisions, but I can't share this without spoiling my movie! However, there was one decision I thought would take me forever to figure out. That decision was what I would do after Grey, the main character, is done watching the news. I was able ...

Genre Film Script Analysis

Image
As you may be aware, I am in the process of creating my own movie. But, in order to do this, I'll need a script first. So I did research about film scripts in the mystery genre, the same as my movie, and of course I had to share. I will be discussing details about the script's film opening to Knives Out and how it compares to the final version of the movie.  The scriptwriter, Rian Johnson, established important details about the story in the first page by briefly describing the gothic theme and each floor of the mansion as the housekeeper, Fran, makes her way to Harlan Thrombey's study room where she finds his body. Johnson includes that Fran sees "HARLAN THROMBEY himself. 85 years old. Slung across a white leather day bed. Throat slit. Drenched in blood. Very much dead." By using description like this, Johnson evokes emotion and horror, establishing the type of movie this will be and officially starting the mystery as to what led to this happening. Overall, this ...

My Viewing Log

Image
For the past couple of months, I’ve been keeping track of my media consumption, mainly focusing on movies and tv shows. So, I decided I could share with you all! These are my opinions on what I've recently watched but maybe I can inspire you to watch and enjoy these films too. December-  Community : I loved it very much. I spent winter break watching it, binging a few times. One day I watched over a full season of around 22 episodes in one sitting. I think the show is very funny and the fourth wall breaks so much it practically doesn’t even exist anymore. One thing that the characters have said a few times is “six seasons and a movie” and at the end of one of the six seasons, “#SixSeasonsAndAMovie” was displayed on the screen. I searched it up and there is in-fact a movie being made. I will definitely be watching that when it comes out.  (early to late December)  January-  The Good Place : At first it was boring, so I almost didn’t want to watch it one day, but then ...

Research on Media Companies

Image
Recently I've decided to do research on a couple media companies (One major studio and one minor studio), and here's what I've found: First is Comcast/NBCUniversal   Ralph Roberts, along with Julian A. Brodsky and Daniel Aaron, founded comcast in 1963. Comcast is one of the nation's biggest providers of entertainment, information and communications products and services . In 2011, they bought 51% NBCUniversal for $13.8b, which was founded by David Sarnoff in 1926 . NBCU own s a nd operates entertainment and news cable networks, the NBC and Telemundo broadcast networks, local television station groups, television production operations and a major motion picture company and theme parks. Brian Roberts, chairman and chief executive officer of Comcast as well as Ralph Roberts’ son, said “Now that we have two years of operations under our belt, our optimism drove our decision to buy the other 49 percent ahead of schedule. We didn’t have to do this now, but we like t...
