Music Video Progress 2
Although we haven't been able to meet up at her house yet, we started the filming of our individual scenes!
The scene that I filmed solo was in my room and on my bed. The shot only shows my shoulders and up and I take up majority of the frame. I am slightly off center and looking away from the camera, letting my eyes wander around the room while Victoria and I are on the phone. The scene, put together, will flip back and forth, showing each of us. The scenes were filmed all at once but will be cut and edited in between each line to show the current speaker of the conversation. A complication I had when recording, however, was the lighting in my room. Also, at times it randomly flickers, but thankfully it didn’t during this video. Here’s an example of how the lighting wasn’t too good, it highlights my nose.
The words we say will not be heard, and this specific portion of the song has no lyrics. We don't exactly expect people to be able to lip read, but we still wanted to make sure what we were saying made sense to the video and scene.
The dialogue is as follows:
Delaney: “Hey! What's up?”
Victoria: “I had a really bad nightmare.”
Delaney: “Oh... are you okay?”
Victoria: “I don’t know, it really spooked me, it felt so real.”
Delaney: “Your room does kinda get dark at night, maybe you should sleep somewhere else.”
Victoria: “Okay, thanks for the advice.”
Delaney: “Anytime.”
Victoria filmed her running scene and her side of the talk on the phone. Thank her brother for his help!
Our next mission is to film our scenes together and the piano playing scene! Hopefully we don't run into the same issues of not being able to meet up. This may be hard because most of the scenes visibly occur at night, so we can't just meet up during the weekend, we have to make sure it is dark outside when we are filming. It's okay though!! We can face the challenges that come our way.
