Music Video Progress
The song that I chose for my music video production is "In the Room Where You Sleep" by Dead Man's Bones.
My plans for shooting the video are to first decide on the costumes and sets. The costumes of the protagonist girl, or Victoria, will be pajamas in a couple scenes and casual clothes in the others. The costume of the antagonist, me, will be all black and creepy some scenes and casual in the others. The sets will be two different bedrooms where a scene repeats when the song starts to say "I saw something sitting on your bed." The other sets will be a piano with a bright red light and outside at night. The piano is at my house and the scenes outside will be by my house. We concluded it will be safer to shoot there because my street is less of a major road and more of just a small section of my neighborhood.
It will start out with a master shot of Victoria's bedroom, zooming in and slowly becoming a wide shot of the bed where she will be 'sleeping' and I (a dark figure) will be sitting on the edge. When the song mentions the hand on her head the camera will cut to a close up of this occurring. Then it will cut back to the wide shot where it starts zooming out into a master. When the song says "where you sleep" for the last time in the beginning, the camera will very quickly zoom in on my glowing red eyes, turning into a transition of me playing the piano with a red hue filling the room and screen. When the piano portion finishes, the camera will move or pan to the left (and right for second scene) which will transition into Victoria running outside at night with a tracking shot. She will then hide behind an object, likely a bush, and I will walk up to it. The camera then cuts to my POV, which will show where she was hiding but the spot is empty. After everything mentioned is repeated, Victoria and I will be talking about the figure with over the shoulder shots. On the last one, it will be over my shoulder when it slowly starts to zoom out, revealing the mask of the dark figure in my hand behind my back.
